I decided to do daily one-card reading for myself. I don’t really use the cards unless for extreme situations. You don’t really need the cards to tell you what’s right or what’s wrong to do in your life. But I thought this could be fun and at the same time keeping myself acquainted with the cards. Why not!

I tried one yesterday morning. I drew King of Wands. ARRGH! I never did get to know the court cards well. They are a little more difficult for me to connect. Why did I have to get one for my first try??? Oh well, maybe this will force me to learn them.

I really didn’t get much feeling from it. So, I consulted the book written by the artist who created the cards. Oh, by the way, I’m using Robin Wood deck. Interesting enough, she expressed that she had the hardest time figuring out this one. Hmmm… She indicated that the King of Wands is energetic, center of the attention, and get this… can be a gay guy! He can also squash you if you get in his way.

I immediately thought of my partner. He’s tall, 6′4″, very trendy (too much money spent on clothing and shoes!) can be short on temper, and GAY! But I didn’t understand it. He’s in Japan on a business trip. How much interaction could we have?? Then I found out. He called me so often on Skype that I could hardly stay away from my computer. Thanks to Skype’s free telephony service.

This morning I drew another card. Guess what… Another court card!!! I got Queen of Cups today. I did get some feelings from it. A compassionate woman, nurturing, quiet. On the card she’s sitting in a half-shell, which gives me a feeling that she could withdraw into herself if things get difficult. She’s looking at her cup, also making me feel that she’s more of the quiet type and more focused on within. Cup associates with emotion.

Even though I got the feeling of this person, but I couldn’t see who this could be. Hmm… Kind of sad that I couldn’t think of a nurturing, motherly figure that I would interact with! But I would soon find out! Before I could even make note of the card of the day, my cell phone started to ring! It was a lady that I know from the temple! I was to send her photos of my teacher’s temple in Thailand. She donated money to fix parts of the temple and my teacher wanted to show her what’s been done. I forgot all about it last week and promised to send them to her this week. It took a while to get the film developed and a CD-Rom made. She was worried that I had forgotten again. Queen of Cup!!

That was fun. Nothing serious but what a way to get to know the cards.
