Card of the Day – Queen of Cups

23 Apr

The last time Queen of Cups showed up indicated a time of inner reflection. I think it’s also true for today. The cup is still the first thing I see. The cups represent emotions, what’s deep inside. And that is her focus here. And this practice brings her joy. Her robe shows yellow and orange fish playing in the ocean (also water babies, but not so prominent today.) Yellow and orange are happy, sunny colors. And the fish are happy in the water. I also notice tiny star-like flowers in her hair. White is purity. The flowers also give me a joyous feeling. The gentle and quiet kind of joy. She’s sitting on a half-shell chair. It doesn’t give a closed-off feeling. It feels comfortable and warm. She is happy with her quiet time alone. Her hand is over her heart. She seems to be enjoying this. She’s sitting on a beach. The waves gently crashes on the rocks in the background. The crashing waves give a light green color, unlike the blue of the body of the ocean. I wonder if that means anything since it caught my eyes.

Update, 04.24.2006, 10:15 am, it was a good quiet day at home knitting. My partner stayed upstairs watching TV. I stayed downstairs listening to podcasts and music, knitting my afghan square. And I finished it! Yay! Hmmm… the square is green… like the green in the waves. LOL

Saturday’s Trio

Nine of Swords Reversed, Eight of Wands, Three of Pentacles Reversed

I hope I can make sense of these cards today. I feel kind of lazy and not wanting to get into the details. Lazy morning I guess.

The first two cards are pretty obvious. Nine of Swords shows nightmare, depression, troubled mind. The Moon is there again. It’s on top of the comforter in the picture. The lining is blue. According to Robin Wood, that shows the universe is at work teaching and helping. The sigil of Aquarius also stands out to me. It means idealism? Maybe that was part of the problem? High expectation? In its reversed position, the stress, the nightmare is lifting. I hope this also means ideals becoming reality soon.

The Eight of Wands is upright this time. Sudden activity. Things moving forward in high speed. I am drawn to the fastest wand in the picture. It has yellow crystals. I think that means joy. This news of things moving forward brings happiness. The Moon is also here. Not only that. There’s another moon. Moon of Jupiter. My attention is on the moon of Jupiter. It’s further away. Maybe this means the action will continue far into the future? Oh good. Not short term solution. Robin designed the card to show a space scene. My thought is that this shows everything in their true form. We see the moons, the planets, the stars as they truly are in space. So maybe the mystery is coming to an end? Do you know what I mean?

I am not too familiar with Three of Pentacles. It shows a master craftsman proudly working on his project. And a magnificent project it is. I am drawn to the green hankerchief he wears on his head. Green shows growth. It also has yellow and pink flowers on it showing joy and love. I am also drawn the the Celtic knots on the stone arch that he’s leaning on. They look kind of odd to me. Reading Robin’s book it reveals that it shows the steps of making the art. This can mean more learning to do. In the reversed position, can this mean more skills to learn? Not able to handle the project? Not enjoying the task?

Observation, 04.23.2006, 10:09 am, I still can’t make perfect sense of the cards. Maybe my timing was off? They weren’t limited to that day? I did get a feeling of it reaching into the future. Maybe these things will come later? Another possibility is that I determined that they were work related. Mabye I stopped paying attention to other things?

Card of the Day – The High Priestess Reversed

21 Apr

Here’s another Major card, The High Priestess. It must be an important phase in my life to have two in a row. The Moon is also here, slightly covered by clouds. That’s the first thing I see. Full Moon with its influence at the maximum. The High Priestess is holding a clear crystal ball, representing inner knowledge, intuition. I also see for the first time the budding green on the two trees in the background. I knew they were suppose to be there, but I had never seen them clearly. And they are so green. It is a time of growth, and the trees show a balance of positive and negative. What can all these mean in a reversed position? A veiled truth? Not getting the inner knowledge? The mystery is so great that it’s difficult to break through? Combined with the Moon from yesterday, it is an out of ordinary experience. Not something fully in my control. Not yet. But there is growth. The Spring is near.

I make a point for these daily readings to have a limited time frame of one day each. Showing only activities within that time. But I felt yesterday’s Moon had a more expansive influence. Reaching into the future. Today’s card may relfect the attitudes toward the situation.

Update, 04.23.2006, 10:04 am, there were some situations that day that made being optimistic difficult. Little troubles that made it hard to see the possible good in the future. I guess the worry-wart in me just took over for a while.

Card of the Day – The Moon

20 Apr

This is a difficult one. The Moon. For a Virgo, the mysterious, changeable Moon is a bit scary. I like certainty. But the moon is bright. After all, it reflects the light of the sun and carries a bit of the victory. The mitsty mountains show that after the mystery there is success. Even though the bottom of the mountains are shrouded by the mist, once you get on the top it is clear. I think the sun is actually beginning to rise in the card. You can just see the light changing on the horizon.

I guess things will be unclear. And I feel that this will be for a while, BUT all lead to a positive outcome. Things will not be as expected. I also notice the mushrooms in the card. Robin Wood indicated that these mushrooms associate with the faeries. In their world Time and Space are completely different and unexpected. So, hang on for a wild ride! Let’s hope it’s not too too long.

Card of the Day – Six of Wands Reversed

19 Apr

I must say that getting Wands day after day when there are 78 cards in the Tarot deck is strange. Anyway. Six of Wands shows a victorious man being welcomed and cheered by the crowd. My attention is immediately at the flag showing a bright sun. The sun is also on his shirt and gloves. Sun means joy and victory. There are children celebrating for his success showing pure joy. The flag he’s holding is also a wand that’s wrapped with laurel leaves showing victory again. From this I also get that it is a situation that’s still progressing. It is not quite done yet. In the reversed position I think it is a delay of success and reward. If the Sun energy prevails, the victory will come eventually. But probably not today.

Update, 04.20.2006, 8:28 am, there was delay on getting paid again. It wasn’t unexpected, really. There was also delay in mom’s returning to the States. She said she’s waiting for available seat. I have a feeling that she wasn’t telling the whole truth. I am a little worried. She needs to get back here for her follow-up visits with her oncologist. It’s been too long.
