Card of the Day - Nine of Pentacles Reversed

Pentacles, Reversed No Comments »

The reversed Nine of Pentacles is really hard for me to understand for some reason. The upright position it shows a woman enjoying the fruits of her hard work. She stands alone in her garden of roses and grape vines. Roses the color of red that shows her courage to stand alone. Abundance of grapes on the vine showing the result of her hard work, and the pleasure she gains from it. She’s holding a hooded hawk on one arm. It’s tamed. Nothing wild goes on in here. Everything is under control. The beautiful garden of fruits and flowers is the result of careful cultivation.

She is alone though. She keeps herself behind closed gates and a wall of red roses. Her success is hers alone. Kind of lonely. But I wonder if she let herself feel that.

I am struggling with the reversed meaning here. Can it be the negative effect of loneliness? Or can it mean things not under control? The book says that it means success built on shaky ground. It can also mean money problem. Or it can mean problem with a pet. Wow. Interesting. I am trying to remember what the first thing that came to my mind. I think it was the closed gate in the picture. Maybe that’s the main message.

I also got glimpses of two other Pentacle cards. How interesting. One is Eight of Pentacles. And the other is Ten of Pentacles. It is going to be interesting to see how the day develops.

Uh, while shuffling before putting the cards away, Justice reversed popped out. Add that to the whole picture. I don’t like it though.

Note, 6:34pm. OK. I think I figured it out. It is being alone and goofing off. Lack of discipline. No pet trouble. Unless if you consider cable box a pet. ha ha
