Three-card Saturday

Ten of Cups, Five of Swords and Knight of Wands

Ten of Cups is great. Emotional fulfillment. Happy family. I think I know exactly what this is. My partner is coming home tomorrow.

Ten of Cups shows a happy family. They are not rich. You can tell because they are wearing peasant clothes. But they are happy to have each other. They have so much joy that they are on clouds, surrounded by ten golden cups and a beautiful rainbow. It is the happiness of being with the family. Not because of material things.

Five of Swords is a little worrisome. It shows three characters. Two walking away looking defeated, leaving their swords behind. One with a smirk on his face with two more swords on his shoulder, holding another in the other hand. He just has to have everything, at any cost… his morality. Wait, he looks like he is going to stab someone in the back. Is it not enough to win everything? I am drawn to the purple golden sword. According to Robin Wood, this one represents wealth. So does this have anything to do with money? I have to watch closely what happens next week. Most of all, I don’t want to become the back stabber. Not that I think that I know who it will be. At this time I don’t know who’s doing what. It’s just won’t a fair and happy moment. Hmmm… it’s probably going to be someone with considerable power… Just thinking out loud.

Knight of Wands is charging ahead. Once again, it shows me that there’s clear direction. He holds his wand with the clear crystal in front of him, lighting the way ahead. I notice that even though the horse looks wild, but its eyes are focused on the knight, paying close attention to the knight’s directions. So even though there’s great energy to get things done, it is still under control. Moving forward. Moving forward. I think I like this.

Note: OK, just before putting the cards away, I got a glimpse of Two of Pentacles. :: Sigh :: Well, at least I’ll be able to juggle and stay balanced.

Saturday – Ace of Wands from the weekly reading

We went to an ordination that day. A friend of ours became an Episcopal priest. Wands are energetic, high spirited. I kept thinking human spirit. Ace is a new beginning, a foundation for what’s to come. So it’s the start of a spirit’s journey. At first I thought The Hierophant was more appropriate. But this group is definitely not stifling, or holding to rigid ways. Ace of Wands was perfect. It marks the new beginning on our friend’s spiritual path.

Sunday – The Empress Reversed & Page of Wands from the weekly reading

The Empress Reversed marks a period of necessary frugality. That’s all I want to say. Kind of scary. The Page of Wands was an announcement on Annika’s blog. Without knowing, I was the number “6666″ comment poster and had possibly won a prize. I didn’t relate this to the Page at first. But it makes sense.

Monday – Two of Swords

This one is confusing. No apparent difficult choices. Except I woke up that morning and had a realization. I am a Virgo, and I don’t get joy from slacking off. Either at work or at home. With hobbies or with chores. I feel guilty and useless when I goof off. That feeling depresses me. I realized that I would probably do much better keeping to a tight schedule (not crazy of course). I am so Virgo. I know. You are thinking that that’s true for everyone. But I feel this way even on weekends. :lol: Hard to express. Hard to express.

Tuesday – Page of Wands Reversed

Yes, it was delay. That was the theme of that day. Money delayed. Conference call delayed. Schedule delayed. My mother’s returning trip from Taiwan delayed.

Wednesday – Nine of Pentacles Reversed

It was nice to see Pentacles. But alas, it was reversed. That morning my partner left for a trade show in New York. Leaving me here by myself until Sunday. That kind of go with the theme of the card nicely. I really did goof off a bit that afternoon. Maybe because of having the whole place to myself. (We work at home.) Yeah, that didn’t feel too good. :lol:

Thursday – Queen of Cups Reversed

If you read the post that day, yeah, it was the cable guy. Definitely!

Friday -  Ten of Wands (also from the weekly reading)

Yes, this is the day that Ten of Wands really came into play big time. I mentioned it on Thursday, but that was a false alarm. Other than the last minute newsletter I had to do. Someone in the main office decided to drop me a bomb at the end of the day. She had one of the clerks send me a bunch of documents through email few minutes before 5pm. Asking me to jazz them up a little. No directions. Just that they want them on Monday. Hello!!!!! Did you expect me to work through the weekend??? Sheesh!
