Card of the Day – Queen of Cups

31 Oct

Queen of Cups

Opposite of yesterday, no? The Queen’s left hand touches her chest (Robin Wood). She feels, she’s in touch with her emotions. She focuses on a veiled cup that gives off radiant light. She is intuitive. She looks within. She sits on a throne made of a giant half shell. Although she doesn’t seem to be shying away from anything at the moment, if you pressure her too much, she just might clam up. Robin Wood describes her as sitting with her legs crossed. My first impression today is that her feet are not even touching the ground. Maybe she’s not completely in touch with reality because of her emotions? Or maybe she seems to be other-worldly today.

Does this have anything to do with Halloween? Oh! Ace of Pentacles popped out while shuffling. It’s a good sign!

Card of the Day – Queen of Swords Reversed

30 Oct

Queen of Swords

This person puts logic before heart. Now, in an upright position it might indicate a clear headed person that does not let emotions run their life. In the reversed position it might mean a cruel person who misuses their intellect. One who doesn’t care if it hurts others. Clearly thinking only for themselves. One person comes to mind. But in what circumstance does this person influence my day today?

Card of the Day – Three of Cups

29 Oct

Three of Cups

This makes sense. I had an eventful weekend at the temple. Today I am just going to take a break. On Robin Wood’s card it shows three dancers. Past, Present and Future. I tend to focus on the Present. The red flower on her dress catches my attention. Red is for courage and passion. Looks like I’ll be enjoying activities that I feel passionate about. I am thinking… knitting! :-)

The card shows a celebration. Happiness and enjoyment. It also has an art theme. Things done with passion, which bring much satisfaction.

Card of the Day – Six of Pentacles Reversed

26 Oct

Six of Pentacles

Lack of charity? Yikes! I am not sure what this is about. Where will I stand in this situation? I checked the book and it mentioned that a loan maybe due. I’ll check my statements. :-) Here’s an interesting bit. I have been giving small loans on Kiva.org. I was notified that two repayments were made this morning. Not sure if this is it though. Just maybe.

On Robin Wood’s card, the giver’s coat shows a pattern of grapes with golden background. Each pattern repeat has four bunches of grapes. The golden background actually looks like four pentacles to me. Four of Pentacles shows a miser. One who holds onto his/her wealth tightly. Could this person on the Six of Pentacles be the miser who finally finds compassion in his heart, and is now willing to share the wealth? He still has an careful eye on the money though. He holds a golden scale in his left hand. He doesn’t just give out money without consideration.

So, the reversed Six of Pentacles can possibly mean that the person is withdrawing back into being a miser. But I hope it’s not the case for today. That’s not very Buddhist-like. :-)

Note, 11:04am, almost forgot to mention. The Devil Reversed and The Temperance popped out while shuffling. Hmmm… not feeling charitable is probably not it for today. :-)

Note, 10.27.2007, 7:49am, wow, I almost forgot to go to the bank to get cash to make donations at the temple on Sunday. I needed A LOT of singles that the ATM couldn’t offer. Maybe the card was giving me a warning.

Card of the Day – Ten of Swords Reversed

25 Oct

Ten of Swords

Hmmm… I seem to be getting the same cards over and over lately. What is the message? Well, this one indicates an end to the worst. Ouch! It sure seems a little much. One sword was enough to hurt. But there were ten!! Glad that things can only go up from now on.

Page of Wands also made an appearance during shuffling. An announcement. Positive news. Will this remove all the stress?

Note, 10.27.2007, 7:45am, not really sure what the reversed Ten of Swords was about. Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention. But a package did arrive Thursday afternoon. I ordered some small items for my teacher to give away at the temples. I was a little afraid of delays in delivery.
