Two of Wands, Eight of Cups
This pair seems to indicate a new phase too. With a sense of leaving the old behind to create room for the new. Two of Wands seems to say that you have a good grasp of the world again, and you can expect good results with your hard work. This is after some inner adjustment to let go of what hasn’t been working for you.
Eight of Cups is leaving the old attachments behind. Gathering up courage to face the unknown. With it a new phase begins (as indicated by the moon). The future may not be clear, but one thing is sure, and that is you cannot advance without moving away from the old.
Well M, have a good day cleaning out the old and welcoming the new tomorrow. I hope this doesn’t mean more house chores.

The Magician, The Sun
Wow! What an amazing pair of cards for today. So, let’s hope that this is a sign of a positive phase in my life. The Magician, great creative energy. “Creation” is the keyword here. He’s well balanced. Well-learned in the workings of all the four elements. He’s a master in creation.
The Sun shines on him, giving positive energy. The Sun ensures clarity and security. The short stone wall in the picture says that there’s protection, but not the stifling kind. It does not keep out joy and freedom. The child shows purity and joy. He carries a red banner of courage and victory.
What great cards. Creativity is the focus here, with the Sun energy as support. And as usual, major cards indicate an influential phase in life. Their energy will last for a while. I am really looking forward to this.

Four of Wands Reversed, The World Reversed
This pair hints heavily that work is not done. Four of Wands indicates a celebration of a good harvest. But when reversed, it shows that work is not yet finished. Not quite the time to rest and celebrate. The World Reversed shows an incomplete cycle. It is saying, again, that something is not quite done. There is delay in meeting the goal. It also warns against the temptation to avoid what needs to be done. The World is a major card and sometimes it indicates situations that are not completely in your control. It’s karmic. But you know karma really is one’s own action even when it’s not so obvious. It maybe a seed that you planted long time ago. Oops. I am getting off topic.

Oh yes. You read that right. Cards. Let’s make this more interesting. It is time to understand better the relationships between cards. My thinking is to do two cards instead of one. The first card is the situation, significant event. The second card is clarification, reason, cause. Actually, it maybe easier with two cards than with just one.
Four of Pentacles Reversed, Queen of Swords
Four of Pentacles Reversed is interesting because what I get from it is very different than how others describe it. So M, you will have to let me know if you think it means something in particular. Four of Pentacles shows a wealthy man holding on to his fortune tightly. He surrounds himself with thick walls for protection. But those walls also separate him from the world outside. And the world outside is a bright and cheerful place. He doesn’t see that. He doesn’t see that his world is within is quite gray. In reversed I think it is of a letting go of the tight control of one’s fortune. Being less of a miser.
Queen of Swords is a woman that values logic over emotion. She has been through enough to know what is needed to be done. And she is ready to go to war to make things right if she has to. She represents transformation. A better day ahead after the storms.
This pair may indicate a need to spend money. It may feel uneasy letting go. But it will actually pave the way for a better future. This is a logical decision to move beyond what’s even more stressful. Maybe even going against one’s nature.
I actually started this reading earlier, but couldn’t finish before heading out to a Christmas gathering.

The Star Reversed
The Star. Inspiration and hope. A guiding star. In the reversed position, it may indicate lost of faith, pessimism. The Star is a very positive card even when in reversed position. It may just be a little delay for your ideas to come to fruition. Make sure you don’t get stuck in negative thinking.
